About Re-Liver

Re-Liver - The bottom-up reconstitution of a biomimetic bioartificial liver

Re-Liver is a collaborative research project funded by the European Commission in the 7th Framework Programme for Medical technology for transplantation and bioartificial organs (HEALTH.2012.1.4-2).

After 36 months, Re-Liver ended by the end of June 2015!

Started in July 2012, the project partners put a lot of effort into the development of a bioartificial liver organoid by constructing a synthetic equivalent of the human extracellular matrix (ECM) seeded with autologous and allogenic cells for the treatment of severe metabolic liver diseases.

We are looking forward to the upcoming years, to see which objectives could be developed even further!

On the following pages you will find more information about the group, the project and our latest publications, as well as a contact form to get in touch with us.
